Our Working and Breeding Dogs
We breed our dogs to work cattle. Our border collies have natural herding instincts, aggressive bite, and are hard workers. When starting our program, we found that many dogs just don't have enough bite and toughness to work pairs. Ours do. We also need dogs with great temperaments. Our dogs are great around people, kids, and other animals. They like to work, they want to please, and are incredibly intelligent. They are easily trained and handle well. We have invested in some of the best bred dogs available, and are breeding for high quality, not quantity. We choose our studs and pairings with great care and our pups are proof of this. We have shipped our dogs all over the country, and even overseas, and are excited to provide great dogs for great people....
-Sis - SissyXBocephus ABCA #344377

Sis was our first dog purchase, back in 2009, and is the foundation of our breeding program. She is a big, slick haired female. She is tough and goes to the head and has a great low heel bite. She is a hard worker, incredibly obedient, and has whelped many great litters, with stellar reviews on her pups. Videos of some of Sis' pups are available on the Reference Dogs page. We have kept several females out of Sis to further our breeding program. "Kit" and "Sioux" can be seen below and are continuing Sis' strong breeding line, as Sis passed away in 2022.
Sis is out of Steve Sturtz's "Sissy" of San Angelo, Texas and Beasely's "Bocephus". Bocephus won the Sundowner Stockdog Futurity in 2008, and also the Pro-Novice Dog of the Year in 2009.
Sis's paternal grandfather, Tony, is a legendary dog in the border collie breeding world.
"I purchased Sissy after the Wyoming trial series in 2008, where she was considered one of the toughest females at her age that most have ever seen. She is a big, tough, slick haired, Border Collie that was easy to train and placed at many trials, including winning the Kansas Futurity." -Steve Sturtz
Below are videos of #1 Sis bringing the cows off the bench with Jed, and #2 Sis working with a pup from one of their litters, Bo.

-Sioux- SisXJackson's Spud ABCA#430437
Sioux is a big, athletic blue Merle. We kept Sioux out of a batch when we bred Sis to a son of Jed (seen on reference page) sold to a Utah rancher. Sioux's sire "Jackson's Spud" is a large, red Merle, and Sioux is a great cross of these two dogs. Sioux is large and athletic. She has amazing conformation and has turned into an impressive finished dog. She has a very hard head and heel bite. Sioux whelped her first batch of pups out of Rex in 2017. She has had several batches since then, with great reviews.

-Coal- SisXIke ABCA #441085

Coal is a great dog out of Sis and Ike, a King/Cap bred male. Coal has a lot of grit and bite. He is very quick and strong. We have enjoyed him as a finished dog, and as our new standing stud. He has sired some great pups, and also won 1st place in a local dog trial in August 2019 in his class. We don't enter trials typically, but our line of dogs have been placing well in trials in our area. Check back for new pups out of Coal.
-Kit- SisXDaybellsWalker ABC #452826

Kit is a tall and leggy tri-colored female out of the 2017 Sis and Daybell's Walker batch. She is big and athletic and very aggressive. We have been very impressed with Kit. She has proven to have the best qualities of her high quality parents. We bred her for the first time in 2020, and have gotten great reviews on that and subsequent batches. Kit's 2024 pups sold all over the country, and the owners of these pups are already impressed with their drive, bite, and natural herding instincts.
We kept Kit's daughter Liz as our new breeding female.

-Liz- KitXJackson's Spud ABC#503781
Liz is a Tri Blue Merle we kept out of Kit's 2020 batch. She has the same sire as Sioux and similar looks and herding ability. She is our new breeding female. Her first batch of pups is available on the puppies page. Pictures coming soon.

-Doug- BellaXCoal 2021 ABC#503781
Bella is a daughter of Bee that we sold to Oregon, but we got a batch of pups out of her to preserve Bee's line. Doug is large, athletic male, currently in training and showing great promise as a started dog.
-Dixie- BellaXCoal 2021 ABC#503781
Dixie is a litter mate to Doug, out of both Bee and Sis's lines. She is small, quick, and a very hard worker. We have enjoyed watching her as a started dog and look forward to her performance in the future as a possible breeding female.
